Win Green welcomes retired horses for care and sustenance. Limited boarding opportunities available - stall and pasture. Please call or email for details.

Win Green's cross-country jumps include water with multiple approaches, Ditches, Sunken Road, Banks of all sizes, Weldon's Wall, Trakhener, various Skinnies and combinations. Practice your pace on our measured grass galloping track, and work on your dressage in our dressage ring. Stabling and accommodations available. Win Green is situated between Fredericksburg and Culpeper, Virginia.

Win Green's regular clinics include Conditioning Your Event Horse, with Nancy Covert, Dressage Camp with Debbie Rodriguez,  Riding the Safe Way with Lucinda Green,  and Eventing Skills with Mary Schwentker.

Nancy Covert Cross Country Galloping Pace Clinic

May 9, 2009, 9 a.m.; Rain Date May 10:  Cost: $50

So, you are expected to gallop at 350-400 meters per minute .novice, or 420-470 mpm for training?. How can you know what speed you are really doing? How can you get a feel for different speeds without clocks and mathematics?

  • Start with an initial discussion on pulse , respiration and temperature taking (vital basic skills) and an opportunity to use a heart monitor on your horse during your gallops.
  • Expect to conclude around 1p.m.
  • Bring your lunch...drinks provided.
